Political activist Abbie Hoffman and a group of protesters threw dollar bills onto the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
The economic bubble that is also referred to as the ‘dot-com boom’ was the result of investors speculatively pouring money into the numerous internet companies that were founded in the mid- to late-1990s.
These original New York stockbrokers traded from the Tontine Coffee House at 82 Wall Street before moving to their first dedicated trading space in 1817.
