US President Harry S. Truman ordered air and naval forces to assist South Korea against an invasion by North Korea.
Kim Il-sung was already the country’s Prime Minister and the First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and four years after his death in 1994 he was made Eternal President of the Republic.
By the time the armistice was signed on 27 July, the money for Operation Moolah was still untouched as no pilot had brought their MiG-15 to South Korea.
On the 28th December 1972, Kim Il-sung became the first President of North Korea.
