American electrical engineer Jack Kilby demonstrated the world’s first integrated circuit while working at Texas Instruments.
Sharon Buchanan, a cashier at the Marsh supermarket in Troy, Ohio, scanned the world’s first Universal Product Code (better known as a barcode) on a 10-pack of Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit gum.
The bug in the Harvard Mark II was very literal since it was a moth trapped between the points inside an electromagnetic relay.
