Ranked as the 259th most powerful computer in the world, Deep Blue was able to evaluate 200 million separate chess positions per second.
Within five years the World Wide Web began to be adopted by people and companies that weren’t connected with science or academia, and it has seemingly been dominated by photographs of cats ever since.
Originally only available for the Japanese Family Computer, it took nearly another two years for the game to be available worldwide.
Thuerk later revealed that around 40 people came to the demonstrations the email was advertising, and estimated that this led to more than $12 million in sales.
